Hi, I am looking for referrals on good bath tub resurfacing companies in the PC area. I am aware there are do it yourself kits, but looking to contract the work. Your insights are much appreciated.

No one I know has had good luck with bath tub resurfacing. It does not last long term and there are issues. I would recommend replacing the entire tub. A white steel tub is about $125. Resurfacing will cost you much more than that.

I used a DIY kit last year when I gutted my bathroom. The original 1970 cast iron tub would've been a PIA to get out. It was a lot of work, probably 10 hours total with the prep work and numerous epoxy applications, but it turned out good. Not so sure I would do it again though... at least not myself.

I can tell you who not to use. He refinished a bath tub for me at the cost of nearly $800. It lasted about a week and all washed down the drain. I called him many, many times and he either hung up on me or said he'd show up at the house and never did. Stay far away from him. By the way, the above review is not mine so it looks like others have had the same experience. Good luck with it.

Your insights are greatly appreciated and thanks! We are looking for a 2-4 year short term option before we do a full and proper gut of the bathroom.

I would touch it up and live with it until your ready for the full remodel.

Agreed and definitely the plan. Several higher priority projects to get done before the bathroom. Thanks!

I used Brown's Surface Allsurface Refinishing, out of Sarasota. He came down and did the tub and all the wall tile in the bathroom. It has been almost a year and it still looks good.

Think about using a tub liner. If it's a standard steel tub that may be an option.
