Was looking at a persons pool the other day and saw a crack in the pool itself. Its a concrete pool and so far doesn't seem to be leaking. Anybody have any experience with this and if so how did you deal with it?
I know hydraulic cement will patch it in a sort of way and Ive read about a pinning system that seems to "stich" the crack to stabilize it but Im looking for real world experiences if anyone has ever gone through this.

Thanks

Very common and there are a few good guys around that will do a pressure test and then go in the pool with a dye and find any leaks and repair it inexpensively. If you see a crack, it's likely not the gunite itself, but rather the quartz/pebble tec finish but should still be repaired to prevent further issues. Like I said, it's common. Not a big deal to correct.

Am with HH. If no water drop, surface finish crack. Not uncommon. Repair costs are not excessive even with actual crack.

All good to know, thanks for the referral. Will pass it along. The only thing that gets me concerned about this particular crack is that the deck and stem wall all show the same continuous crack. Will need to get it investigated further.

We used Fulton Pools when we had a leak. They finally found it near the skimmer. But they do have people that will put a dive suit on and they have special equipment that can detect bubbles and find leaks.
