Found me a mess of those things and used BBQ sauce. To me they tasted like chicken!

Geckos come out and night and are pale color. Anoles come out in day,are brownish, some are greenish, some have redish head.

As an FYI, the type most frequently seen (think they're considered geckos) are not poisonous to cats or dogs. I got the begeezus scared out of me one night when one of my two cats came running through the house from the lanai with foam coming out of his mouth. I scooped him up and took off to the emergency vet who informed upon arrival that if it was a gecko, they are not poisonous. The gecko gives off a substance that causes the salivary distress and a taste that makes them unappealing to eat apparently which is why birds seem to largely leave them alone.

The green anoles are native to Florida and the brown anoles are invasive illegal aliens from Cuba.
