Need to find a CVS Minute Clinic or a Walgreens Walk-In Clinic as close to Venice or S. Venice as possible. Husband needs to have come stitches taken out and I have a sinus infection. We attempted several of the local walk-in clinics and they don't take our insurance and are quite expensive even by Dallas standards. This is the first serious downside to this area that I have found.

I find the lack of medical care amazing. While the area has a small population part of the year it explodes during season with old people who need medical care. Confusing to me. I would think it would be better. We went to one urgent care regarding the stitches and she quoted $100-$400 to have them removed!

I've never used a minute clinic, but my impression of them from other people is that they are convenient, not inexpensive. Why not just find a doctor that is on your insurance plan? We had no problem finding doctors to meet all our needs.

dlking, I have used them, CVS minute clinic, before for minor type things and they are less than going to a dr. I spoke to several drs. offices yesterday and for a cash first time patient they wanted at least $100 up even though it was something very simple.

I don't know of any around here. You can do a search on both sites to see the closest location.

Try the CVS minute clinic online location site: Minute Clinic: Minute Clinic store locator

Try the Walgreens clinic site: https://www.walgreens.com/pharmacy/h...c-afa44b766866

Have had to use these before, and not accepting insurance is typical. I used one in Vegas, but what they charged was less than the out-of-pocket for out-of-network charge.

Now, you can get into Dr. David Butler's office in Port Charlotte fairly quickly, on Caring Way. He is out of the office but has a nurse practitioner doing this kind of stuff.

I have never once had a Dr remove stitches lol. Nail clippers and tweezers work every time.
