Call the Charlotte County Building and Construction Services to find out if there is a definition.

That below from TamRe is the best advice so far.. Here is a little more insight..as to what many municipalities use for occupancy basis.. each bedroom is not to have more than 3 people with exception of infants) residing..a bedrooom is a seperate room for dedcated use and has a closeable door seperating it from the rest of the habitat with a closet inside the parameters .. all the blood and relative etc etc became unenforceable in the 60's no later than the 70's. for obvious reasons.. Occupancy limits became an issue with the huge influx of immigrants in the 80's..JSYK HUD is considered nation wide as the basic go to..

I'm sure that the MD regulation will not withstand a challenge today. I just always thought it was stupid anyway. Everyone in office sooner or later writes a law or regulation about something stupid, that they think is a great idea.

Its like every elected official wants to leave their mark on society : ) Often enough when it comes down to counties and even more so , small towns, at least from my personal experience, many of the "laws" will not withstand a legal challenge.
