Most couldn't afford to live here without the snowbirds.

True, but snowbirds are like having company visit...you love to have them arrive, but then you love to have them leave ;-)

So I guess the first words spoken by the master of ceremonies at the party is, "We thought they'd never leave!", then the beer starts flowing and the music starts. But, what happened to it?

I'm a newbie full-timer. I've been here since August. I remember streets devoid of traffic, oppressive heat, and not much happening. It was like Mother Nature had us under the magnifying glass.

I really like what I've seen so far of "the snowbirds" being here. This place is alive. I wish they would never leave. I'll deal with having to wait in line, having to wait at at the traffic light, walking into a crowded restaurant and not being able to be seated immediately. It's good.

Yes, agree. Many, or maybe most of us, have lived places that make "Punta Gorda in season" look like Mayberry RFD. Yet we have many restaurant choices, nice parks, endless street events. Still, I like the heat, humidity and quiet in July - I get in the boat and sometimes can cruise for 45 min without seeing another soul, a pretty special experience. I think we get the best of both worlds, which wouldn't be the case without our snowbird friends.

Yep and not to mention the fact that most that complain about the snowbirds were once lmao.
But I agree summer is awesome in PG
