From my other threads, you may know I have been on a house hunt, with a pretty low budget. I live alone with my three cats and I do see some small, older homes in PG that fit my budget that don't appear to be in a high crime area. I see there are churches, vets and Publix nearby, as well as hospitals. I see lots of jobs in Ft. Myers - a bit of a commute, but doable.

What's the demographic there? I'm in Pinellas County now, which is pretty young and a bit downtrodden. The houses in my budget are in very high crime areas near St. Pete.

No one here is familiar enough with PG to give an opinion on this?

The average age in PG is 62 mostly caucasion. Depending on where in PG you are looking could depend on whether it is a good neighborhood. That said I would not consider and area "high" crime.

62 is good - I am in my early 50's, so that is fine....

Thank you! It is odd they only give age demos for under 18 or over 65 - very strange. No age demos for over 18 but under age 65.

Anyways, no concern - I am fine with those demographics.

If you go to the City of Punta Gorda link I gave above, it is the exact same link to the demographics as this, so I don't know how it is any better when it is the same link.

Yeah, they are the same stats. Not so sure about the area, anyways - PG seems very safe according to data, yet most of PC is in the red. I don't get it - they are so close to each other, right?

There are areas in Port Charlotte that have a Punta Gorda zip code. Namely, unincorporated Punta Gorda.
