He should receive the same punishment as the deceased. We should not have to pay for his 3 hots and a cot for life.

Default Michael Russo Life in Prison

Convicted Punta Gorda 7-11 killer, arsonist sentenced to life

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. A 29-year-old man convicted of killing a 7-Eleven clerk and setting the store on fire was sentenced Monday to life in prison.

Michael Russo received the life sentence on a second-degree murder charge and a 30-year sentence on a first-degree arson charge. He’ll serve those concurrently.

He was convicted in the death of Kyle Farishian, whose body was found after a fire in November 2015 at the convenience store at the intersection of Bal Harbor Boulevard and Aqui Esta Drive.

Following the conclusion of a two-week trial, the six-person jury deliberated for hours before producing a guilty verdict. Surveillance footage contributed to identifying Russo as a suspect in the case. However, the defense plans to appeal the decision, citing the prosecution’s inconclusive evidence.

Glad to see this dirt bag convicted. Wish he was convicted of first degree murder and received the death penalty. I wonder if they are going to close this 7-11 after the new one opens up on Rt.41.

Good - more of these murderers should have speedy trials. Too bad he didn't get the death penalty as this seemed to be a premeditated murder.

I hope they keep the old 7-Eleven open. It's usually crowded and it's walking distance from my house. I would really hate to see it close. I would guess the new store on 41 is going to see a different customer base anyway; people from 41 rather than people from the neighborhood.
