Hello,

Does anyone know anything about Murdock Village? I know this was supposed to be a large project in Port Charlotte, but it seems to have been put on hold. Are there any updates about it? Are there any other new projects coming to Port Charlotte? I would appreciate any information you can provide.

Thank you.

That large sucking sound you hear is taxpayer money going down the drain to pay for this boondoggle. Acres of trees interspaced with empty sites where homes used to stand. Te land is for sale, no takers at this time.

They are turning dirt out at Babcock Ranch where the new 'solar city' is going to be.

The Charlotte County politicians in office as commissioners at that time forced people out of their homes to create that less than a ghost town. The whole thing was wrong wrong wrong.

I would hope at some time they would sell that land. It's not that far from the gulf. I guess 20 minutes or so.

No longer any need to sell it...they found out another way to shake the money from the CC property owners: $15,600+ for unneeded sewers.

I think I read a comment here that the sewer is headed towards Murdock and will be to its advantage selling to have sewer.

I own some property there, and when I bought it, there was a lot of talk about Murdock Village being a great thing for the area. Then the market tanked, and it doesn't seem like it is coming back there. Other places in South Florida have. Does anyone know of any new projects going on there?
Thank you for your replies.

Here is the link to the Charlotte County Comprehensive Plan from Charlotte county Planning and Zoning - https://www.charlottecountyfl.gov/se...sive-Plan.aspx

You have to really read through each section to see what is planned.

The Board of County Commissioners approved the Smart Charlotte 2050 Comprehensive Plan on July 20, 2010. Because of challenges to the adoption of the plan, the effective date of the plan was delayed until June 15, 2011.

Smart Charlotte 2050 is a document that establishes the vision of the citizens about how the County will grow in the future. It contains goals, objectives, and policies that reflect this vision and which guide development and preservation.

Yes Mike, there are two reasons for all the new sewer expansions: 1) poop is BIG money, and since our county OWNS the water/sewer utility on that side of the county, they want more more more paying customers, and 2) all the expansion areas lead up to.....one guess.... MURDOCK! They need these sewer expansions to feed the many acres of wooded land that we're all paying for ($thousands every day in interest) to make the land more valuable for potential buyers or for county development in the future (more $$$).
