Anyone have personal experience or knowledge of various Condominium complexes in/near Port Charlotte? e.g., quality of HOA management; amenities; zoning issues; safety; popularity? Complexes you would avoid? Thank you.

When we first moved there we rented a unit at the Bimini Bay Club Condos, on Forest Nelson and Peachtree. It was a very nice, mostly quiet, place to stay temporarily while we searched for a home. We had it month to month, which was rare. In 2007 we paid just $650 per month, cable and water included, for a 2b2b furnished unit. Looking back it was a real bargain. We had some snowbird neighbor's who paid $1,100. We just didn't like condo living because it was too much like apartment living. Listening to footsteps above you and the occasional argument in the unit next door. On the upside, there was a nice pool I never had to clean and grass I never had to mow.

Thanks for the reply M.A.. I'm interested in a minimum of 1,000 sq. ft. though, and not in a complex that turns a lot of rentals. Is anyone familiar with the condos at 175 Kings Hwy. (Newport Condos), or places in Deep Creek? Gimme the good, bad or ugly. thx

Deep Creek complexes are generally smaller, minimal amenities. You can get them at a reasonable price ($110-140K). Quiet area, and often a lot of snowbirds.

Thank you; yes regarding Deep Creek. The HOA management is very important to me as I am in the HOA from Hell here w/a single family home on owned land. Sorry to say. Several in DC area also have CDD fees which is a no-no, there are several on the mkt., they are practically giving them away so something is going on there (imo).
