Default Fishing in July!

Hi,

I went fishing in Port Charlotte that last couple days, and I wanted to post a couple cool pics - at least I thought they were cool - but you be the judge.

If you have any fishing pics to post that would be cool.

Here is a picture of a hammer head shark I caught. When I got him in the boat, he jumped off and started biting everything in site. I finally got where I could grab him, and here he is posing for the picture.

Don't worry, when I kissed him and let him go, it wasn't on the mouth! LOL

I hope the pictures turn out OK.

Here (Below) is my new friend, a little white heron that showed up for a light lunch. Yep, that is my hand feeding her a small greenback bait fish! She is still eating the fish when I snapped this picture. The bird was pretty friendly. Actually, four of them landed on my boat, and my friends went nuts. When I fed them by hand they were stunned, but soon they joined in, and fed them too. Two of the four actually followed me all the way home to my dock. I had to go under an underpass and they were to afraid to go under with me, so they flew over and met me on the other side. I held a fish up and they saw it, and flew from about 100 yards away to rejoin me for the rest of the trip home.

Here is when she arrived after I had to travel under the bridge at Bass Inlet - Near Fisherman's Village. She is sitting on the high bow rail of my boat

Here she jumped down to get a better look to see if I was going to feed her some more fish or some of our shrimp. She preferred the fish.

Here she is again checking out my boat! I think that she likes me! It must be my charm!

This is a picture I took when she visited me the first time a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately I already released all my (shrimp and fish) so I wasn't able to give her a treat.

This is a picture of her on the same return trip home from a couple weeks ago.

Isn't she beautiful! ! Charming, sleek, wonderful body, long lean legs, I wanted to offer her one of my beers in hopes of getting her drunk! But, she resisted!

I hope these show up well.

So it was a girl shark! I feel better knowing that I kissed a girl shark before I let her go, (with her bonnet on - I shoulda known).

LOL! I can't wait to see them! I think it would be cool to see some more fishing pictures and people having fun out on the water. We had a blast, and it is a great way to beat the heat. It is easily 10 degrees cooler out on the water, and the breeze is usually better too. I caught that in the hole by alligator creek.

It is funny everyone calls that a "hole". It basically is about 2-3 feet deeper than the rest of the harbor area around it, and it slopes very gradually to it, and it might be a mile or two long and a several hundred yards wide. How does that constitute a hole? You can't fall into it. A hole for me is something you fall into, and usually hurt your ankle or something. Sometimes you can't get out! That's a hole! I guess they need to call it something - cuz that is where some of the fish like to hang.

Maybe the fish fall in to it when they don't look where they're swimming..!

I've been in the Port Charlotte area for a little over a week and have been fishing to a different area almost everyday. The downside is I am fishing from shore yet, but still catching fish. Caught a few nice spanish mackerel on spoons at siesta key and nokomis beaches on different days. Kept one to try it out and it was very good! Wife caught a nice snook on some live shrimp at a pulloff area also near siesta key. Caught some Jacks at Boca Grande and .....Oh yea.....While at Nokomis Beach, I was wading in the evening and throwing a spoon and WHAM !!!!! TAPRPON ON.......AWESOME.....It gave me three nice jumps...It ripped half my spool off in less than 30 secs. I only got to fight it for about 4 mins and then it came off. Still alot of fun seeing a fish like that........Gotta take a small break this week and hit the Hospitals hard for an RN position. Hard to grasp that we are living here now and NOT on vacation!!!!!!!

SWEET! I haven't caught a Tarpon yet, and you got one on a hunk of metal from the beach! Man! You have talent! But! ...

Can you drink beer and catch fish?! Huh?! huh?!

And you're gonna let work interfere with fishing! Where are you from? LOL It is obvious you haven't adjusted to being in Florida yet! LOL
