Anyone have suggestions for the best free online/iPad apps for listening to radio stations? I have iheartradio and radio.com and love being able to listen to WDVE Pittsburgh, KROQ LA and CBGB radio from Charlotte.

Or just let me know what your favorite station is in your city, why it is your favorite and their format and I can find it on my own.

Something for everybody HERE.

From those above I like ErrorFM Music (Indie/Pop) my favorite of all of them, Great Big Radio (Oldies) and Bounce Radio.Net (Rock) the best.

Other audio streams on my iTunes recommended (Google them) are:

Absolute Radio (ACR W/ Personalities) It's a commercial station from London that has many of the qualities I used to like about radio here before the consolidation of the industry destroyed the quality of the product. They were playing Mumford & Sons and Florence & the Machine well over a year ago.

Atlantic Oldies 2 Nations Gold - Big playlist of past tunes that made it either in US or UK.

Bob Morgan Show - A very wide selection of Oldies going as far as the mid-50's.

College Radio - Pick yours, your faves or local ones.

Creamy Radio - Eclectic

Dementia Radio - The only thing missing is Dr. Demento

New Normal Music - Recent & Current Indie songs.

Public Radio - I like The Current the most, others are WXPN, KEXP & KCRW for a very eclectic mix.

Radio Free Phoenix - Freeform Music more than just your average Classic AOR Rock. Many gems too good to be forgotten that you haven't heard for decades even deep Zappa cuts.

Radio Nigel - The ROQ of the 80's. Punk Rock 'N New Wave

Radio Paradise - Totally Eclectic

Radio XY - Indie & Brit Music

If you can't find anything you like from that list you can always go back to your FM with it's short playlists and long commercial blocks, Pandora or whatever.

3WK classic underground (found on iTunes) if you like classic rock music that wasn't big on the radio but was still great music. It's not everyone's taste in music, but for me it sounds new.

Being a good Chicagoan, I have to promote WGN, especially on Friday and Saturday nights when Nick D is on...

It is talk, but it isn't dry.
