I see... you are clowning

It's NPR the one "trolling" for handouts in order to survive. If it weren't for the handouts, NPR would not exist.

That aside, I don't listen to NPR because I find it boring, and it puts me to sleep.

My local NPR station is KPCC and they have some excellent shows. No AM-ish at all.

My dentist listen to NPR all the time. By the time he finishes with me I have no idea if the pain I feel is from the dentistry work, or from my listening to NPR

Just kidding with you. But he does listen to NPR while working.

I was just thinking that listening to NPR reminds me of Metamucil, Exlax, dentures, and thinks like that, so I decided to Google the following "do only all farts listen to NPR?" And look at one of the links I got from the search:

This is a good station out of Tampa;

WMNF 88.5 FM Community Radio, Tampa

Saturday's at 12:00 EST is a great 60s-70s show. Very eclectic station, so just check their schedule to see if there's something you're interested in.

There are some people on NPR whose voices are so grating to me that I change the station when they come on.

Nina Totenberg, Chana Joffe Walt and Neda Ulaby all leap to mind.

I think the OP is mixing apples and oranges, and is complaining about FM radio programming in general, and not about National Public Radio as a source of public affairs radio programming.

Ah... I kind of suppose that's why they call it listener supported radio.

There you go again

You can listen to news about chipmunks, old-people shows, or even a show about rhinoceros horns-shows that are to me as exiting as laxative commercials-as much as you like, but I prefer to listen to Michio Kaku, Kim Komando, Handel on The Law, Rush, Savage, Jerry Doyle, local guns/reloading/hunting shows, and Laura Ingraham.

That said, unlike you I don't try to put down others who don't agree with my views.

Please allow me to apologize to you, ovcatto

Maybe it's a generational thing (having to do with age). At this stage of my life I enjoy fast-pace shows. Maybe 20 or 30 years from now I will be listening to NPR while taking Metamucil, prostate medicine, and all of that.

Funny thing about "generational" it by definition refers to age.

Either that or having continued your education, grown out of ADHD, or otherwise learned how to appreciate more intellectually challenging programing.
