For those that love 80's music, I thought I would count down CFNY's top 102 of 1021 80's tracks counted down before New Year's 1989, via you tube for you.

After browsing down that list of music, and after looking at some of the posts with names like 50cents, tupac, and other complete and total trash like that just makes me more proud and grateful to have grown up in my generation.

Imagine growing up where there is no music? And I used that word music so loosely. The day the music died says Don McLean. I say it died in about 1988 or so. It's such a shame.

Tupac was a lot more nuanced and definitely a better artist than 50 Cent is IMO. That said, I also grew up in the 80's and am happy to see that Blue Monday, one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite groups of that time, made the Top Ten on this list!
