...is literally the worst form of entertainment known to man. It is utterly stupid, repetitive and just plain ridiculous. I feel like it appeals to the LOWEST common denominator in society with the prank phone calls, the trite stories they talk about, the segments where they "bust" cheating spouses for cheating.. the awful sound effects. and on and on and on. GAHH, here in Miami we have DJ Laz and the morning radio with "Lucy Lo aka Lopez".... they are seriously bafoons. They think they're funny, laugh at the most mundane things. They think they're so "crazy" and "zaney"...it's so effin try-hard! I don't understand how these people stay on the air.

even the nationally syndicated ones like Elvis Duran and the morning radio just suck! I wish DJ laz would read this so he could see how much he sucks! Middle aged man trying to be "wacky"..... how pathetic!

Does anyone else agree? Is morning talk radio the worst thing ever created? I commute to work every morning and have to constantly listen to it. I hate it so so much. Makes me angry and I wish nothing but ill will toward them.

^^^ With that talk radio show as bad as you described on the radio, I simply would change the dial or turn off the radio. Problem fixed!

DJ Laz is still around on the air... wow... I assume Power 96...

He is known for what he does with the music, not so much his verbal on air skills I suppose.

Much of the morning content that fits the description of the OP is forced silliness.

All depends on where you live. For example in Fairbanks, Alaska we have a local morning talk show where things happening locally are talked about, from traffic problems to a lot of other issues. For example, public meeting announcements, schedules for sports and other activities taking place around the town, talking about cooking classes and recipes, local news, and so on. The show is broadcasted in the morning rush hour, from 7:00 to 9:00AM. If driving to work and I hear about some traffic accident ahead of me, it gives me time drive around.

It can also depend on ownership too. If the morning team on the radio pretty much only talks about reality shows such as the Kardashians and other fluff for example and if the station is owned by one of the big guys ( Iheart, Cumulus or CBS who just today has announced they are putting all of their radio stations up for sale ) then there is the more than likely chance an out of town consultant behind the scenes telling the program director who goes on to tell the on air talent that they need to make their show sound more national and less local even if it is just a local show.
