Our 7 year old Chihuahua (Cordillia, Cordy, or affectionately Cord Blood) just passed away today. She had about a week long struggle with liver failure that didn't respond to antibiotics. It sprang up completely out of the blue and caused a quick decline.
She was a puppy mill rescue, and lived about 5 years of being one of their most exploited dogs - when we got her (about 2 years ago) her teeth where completely rotted, nails curled into her pads, her body was showing signs from the stress of continual births, and she had wounds around her neck from mating - all while her numerous puppies generally sold for at least $600, year after year.
We also received one of her daughters, and Cordy liked to spend her retirement laying in blankets with her, laying in her padded house, getting as close to you as possible, and being sung her very own theme song.
She was loved and will be greatly missed..

I am so sorry for your loss. You gave her the happiest time of her life, as you will her daughter. She has joined all of ours at the Bridge and I am sending hugs to you.
