It is with a heavy heart that I let you know Roger had to be euthanized this morning. He has been sick off and on since June 17th. He was up and down all night in the rain outside, seemed disoriented, was panting, and drooling. His gums were white so called the vet first thing this morning and they said bring him in. The redid his bloodwork which showed higher elevated liver enzymes than he had on the 17th. They also did xrays. The vet thought it may be liver cancer. He said they could keep him, put iv in and do ultrasound/biopsy tomorrow but that he may not make it through the night. We made the decision to have him euthanized rather than suffer and have the same result after the biopsy.

Words can never fully console the pain we feel when losing a best friend and companion but know my heartfelt sympathies are with you and yours.

So sorry for your loss. I believe that he is now running the great fields of the sky, happy and healthy, with lots of new friends. ((Hugs))

You did the very best thing you could do for your beloved friend. Though it broke your heart, I bet Roger would thank you for freeing him from his pain, and I picture him as a youngster again, romping, tail wagging and looking for the new adventures around every corner beyond the Rainbow Bridge.

I guess that is Roger's picture in your icon there. What a beautiful, magnificent creature he was. My sympathies you for your loss, you know he loved you, knew you loved him and carried that love with him as he left this world.
