I lost my best friend yesterday, after eleven years of pure love and devotion.

Part of what makes the loss so hard is that I believe he is the only being in the world who ever loved me so truly. So I feel the absence of that.

He was such a wonderful, joyful little guy.

I pray he is well and happy and frolicking somewhere, and that he will be there to greet me when it's my time to pass.

Edit: I tried to post a photo, but failed

Sincere condolences for your loss. Losing a furry family member and best friend is awful and painful.

It’s tough losing a pal. I miss all my previous paws, and hope to reunite someday.

Sounds like your pal gave you 11 great years.

I am also sorry you lost your best friend. I do believe you'll be together again one day. Hold onto the love, that never dies.

Very sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel, but it gets better. I know its tough to consider now, but think about sharing some of that love to a new friend in the not too distant future.

We have lost many fur babies through the years and it’s so painful. We always honor the one that has passed by rescuing another.

Thank you, everyone. This guy was so special. If anyone can tell me how to post a pic, please do.

I feel devastated.

I tried to be a good dog mom, but feel I was probably not totally considerate of his needs - having guilt - when I was working, was so busy, who knows what kind of life he had.

I have pampered him (on his last night he had steak and cake!), and loved him so much, but I feel I could have done more. I am having regret, and also magical thinking - I just asked him to come back!

I printed out this really cute pic of him (which I will post here if I can figure out how), and the printer was having probs so the color was off . . . what did I do? Put it in plastic and attached it to the inside of my front yard fence - right by where he was buried. As I look out the window right now, I see his loving face.

I am a weirdo.

I loved him more than any human and I feel he loved me.

And I miss him.

If you have any grieving tips, please let me know.

He had Congestive Heart Failure, and if anyone wants to talk about that, I have a lot of opinions/stories, etc.

Thanks again for your condolences - it all boosts me in some way, and I appreciate it.
