I lost my dog way to soon do to a stupid vets lazyiness. I was very, very, very attached to her and she died at the age of six. For about two months I would cry everyday and as time went on it was a few times a week once a week and so on. Today just like you I will be fine until someone brings up some memory with her in it and its falls all over again. Most people I hang around with walk on egg shells when it comes to saying something about her. So i know how you feel there.

My husband wanted to fill the house back up beacuse it was too quite for him and he missed having a dog around. I warned him I was not ready for another dog yet. He also thought getting another dog would help me heal. Well he won and we have one now and I can not get myself to get close to him. I find myself getting mad at him because it should of been my momma getting that treat and not him or my mooma should be getting to lick that bowl that my husband let him have.

My piont is make sure you are ready to get another dog. Getting another dog to help you heal might backfire like it did for me. If your husband doesn't want another dog, just put a cute puppy face in his how could he say No!!

I'm sorry another dog didnt work out. I know it will help me. I've been checking shelters. I don't think buying from a breeder is fair when there are so many loving dogs out there. My husband told me to go ahead, he actually misses having one in the house. We are presently having medical problems with him so I am just hanging in there till I find out how bad this will be. Woulndt be fair to a new dog to not be home much. I miss my shih ztu so much but know I could be happy with another. Just need it. I am so lost without the responsibility and love.
