goodbye old friend
Well today my heart was broken. i tried to prepare myself as i never had to put a dog down. My beloved Zero is in heaven now. after 15 years he has been the most loyal most loving friend i ever had. i have another dog but he's not at loving as zero was. he does not liked to be touched. but my zero would snuggle all night if he could. he loved to play and take walks. but the last few months have been hell for him. due to kidney failure we had to let him go this morning. he will be missed and i will always love you zero.

We put a dog down today -- my friend's dog. I poured a little too much liquor in my coffee this evening. what can i say? it cuts right to the core.

My heart aches for your loss...there's just nothing one can say to ease your pain or sense of loss. I've been there and have had to help my best friend cross over. It's a selfless act of deep love, that enables us to help our loved ones in this way. May you both find comfort in knowing that your friend is now forever young, healthy and happy....and depending upon your beliefs, you'll be reunited one day.
I pray that your pain eases and you find comfort in knowing that your friend knows your love and knows you did what was needed for them. I also ask that our Lord will guide your through this difficult time.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know the pain all too well. Remember all the smiles he put on your face.

I do understand, having lost my treasure suddenly two months ago. The pain is indescribable, and you think it will never end. But it will ease away, slowly, as the days past. And you did your friend the best and most loving thing you could do. Someday, maybe not soon, but someday, the memories will be there for you to hug. They will never go away. And Zero will be there waiting at the bridge for you someday!

I'm sorry Deb. I feel your pain too as we put our dog down about 5 weeks ago.
I think all our dogs have found each other at the Bridge and playing happily right now and looking down upon us. That's the way I like to look at it.

I know what you mean about a special dog. My most favourite dog ever just stood out from the rest though I've loved them all. Feel better.

My heart goes out to you.
I don't come here often as it always breaks my heart.
Have been there with Pets of my own and the 2 I have now are quite elderly.
I was a Vet asst. for 10 years and saw lots of heartbreak.
But it is also the kindest thing we can do for our furry friends sometimes, albeit the toughest.
Take care, they will always be in out hearts.

Its amazing the friendship we develope with our pets, and sometimes take we them for granted. I still remember pets I lost 20 or more years ago like it was yesterday. But I know one day I will see them again.

Your pet will still always be your faithfull friend. When my dog Angel died, I was as you real sad.
Then with my other dog, moping on the walk, I did think, Angel send me a white feather, if you are
ok. Yes, I saw one, and did pick it up, anyway, today I put in into the garden, by an angel statue.
Why, I just did feel, it was time to let go, it just was a feather, which I did keep for 2 years, but a sign.
Maybe it was an angel sign sent to your so special dog, and you! Kidney failure, that was what the dog Angel had at age 12, and she was strong
and happy til age 14, but , I got my wish, she died in my arms at peace. She just was being held, and, safe, and loved. Sad yes, but, she is happy!
