Thanks, Thursday007! Yes, positive and fun memories are part of remembering our furry friends/family members. Smiles and remembering all the silly and fun things can help people a lot. It depends on where each person is with their grief.
For those who are able to enjoy the vid, I'm so glad it is here.
The song is addictive in the vid and I just thought the words sounded like something our beloved pets are singing to us to lift our spirits and tell us it's okay - like "Now you're stuck in a hole and I just want you to get out" "Stop, don't be hard on yourself - it's not good for your health" "Don't let your demons get you down" "You're all that matters to me,"
Thank you for that wonderful breath of humor in a sad place. We have to learn to smile again, and that showed me that our dear furry friends want us to laugh and continue to enjoy their antics, even after they have gone to the bridge. Thanks again.
MSR, thank you for starting such a beautiful and healing thread. I don't know how I missed it before ~
Thanks to eveyone who's shared their losses and their love. Grieving with others who understand is incredibly comforting~~~~
11 years ago I lost my beloved Biscut to a truck. She had snuck out the side door when I was taking out the trash and I tried to run after her, but my other little dog was running behind me and I scooped her up and took her back home and got in my car.
I went down the side street I saw her go to and I went there and around to another street and when I pulled out on the main road I saw the police car lights - I immediately started crying because I knew it was her. She lie there in a pool of blood and despite that and the fact a crowd had gathered I knelt down and kissed her cheek and whispered to her through my tears "I am so sorry" (now I'm tearing up just thinking about it). She was only a year old. She was only two houses away from being back home. I still grieve her loss after all these years.
One thing that still strikes me is a man, I did not know, had run to his car and opened the truck and got a quilt - a beautiful quilt - to cover her. At first I thought maybe he was the one who hit her - but he wasn't it was just a random act of kindness and I would love to find him to thank him for that gesture
The night before, in the middle of the night, I was watching this movie on the sofa laying on my side and Biscut was laying behind me with with her head resting on my knees and I remember how content she was to just be there.
This song is from that movie and every time I hear it it reminds me of Biscut and all her love.
This Thread is Another Tool to Help Some of Us Heal......It Belongs to All

Wicked Felina,
You are welcome. Maybe it wasn't the right time for you to find it until now. For some people, music can be extremely healing. We're all different. I just wanted to make sure those that I knew that seemed to heal or feel differently after hearing music had a place to post favorite music too.
I truly hope many find peace, compassion and friendship from this thread. I do agree that grieving among friends who have experienced similar circumstances helps us. It is nice that we finally have a place we can share those thoughts, feelings and expressions about our beloved pets/family members.
I really like what Thursday007 has added in additional music. I hope others will feel like that they can add music as well. Sometimes when we feel down, certain music may help lift our spirits and our souls. At other times as our healing progresses, we can look back and remember the music that marked those great times we shared with our lost furry loved ones as well...
This is not my thread, it belongs to everyone. We all can contribute what has helped us and someone else will benefit from it. That is how this thread seems to work. Comments and music left for one person can benefit more than the one for whom they are left.
I'm glad it was here when some of you have recently needed it. It will always be here for those who need it and those who want to add to it.
