I truly understand what a shock it is to lose a seemingly healthy animal to a sudden tragedy, be it illness or accident. It is very hard and painful to deal with as you had no time to even try to prepare mentally for the loss. It doesn't matter if you had him for a year or even less, there was a bond of affection and love between you and you will miss him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

thanks folks .. I dont know what happened .. I did have to bring him upstairs this morning .. he was hidding in the basment shower stall .. I picked him up and was cuddling him on my lap as I was looking him over .. he didnt purr or anything he just sat on my lap kinda shivering and then toppled over no fuss no cry nothing he just "left" .. I held him for along time just to be sure .. when he got cold I believed it then.... I just dont know what happened !.. He was an older cat to be sure but still he was a good kitty and I figured he would have many more years .. Nappy was about 7 or 8 so this was unexpected to say the least yep UTD on shots .. no mites or bugs a house cat .. Dogs never bothered him.. ( they had respect for his claws !) I dunno why ..

and yeh He was a well loved Cat..

what a terrible shock for you.....

we had the same exact thing happen to a perfectly healthy (??) 1 y/o cat when i was a kid many many years ago..... my parents were so shocked, they agreed to an autopsy.... and still it was never determined what happened to him........
