A couple days ago I found a dead bat in the bed of my pickup. I had seen them flying around at night, but had not seen a dead one before. Was curious about why it would just drop dead in the middle of my pickup bed so called NCSU extension service. They told me about this.

When I first read your subject I thought you were talking about the New York Yankees bat a couple of days ago! But reading further I saw it was the insect eating bats you have found.

It would not be a good thing if NC gets that bat disease as the bats quietly and eerily keep the bug population in check!
