I'm afraid this is an irresponsible bit of information. Have you ever seen a dog that was infected with Parvo? It's a terrible, terrible way for a dog to pass on.
That and the fact that rabies is active in this area... yeah, go ahead and skip the vaccine.
I know some people debate the bordetella vaccine, and if your dog is not going to be boarded, or in much contact with other dogs -- maybe there is a point there where you wouldn't need it. But most vaccines greatly benefit your dog's health and longevity, as well as the health of other dogs it may come in contact with.
