About 6 hours away, Pocahontas County WV...home of the Cass Scenic Railroad, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Droop Mtn Battlefield, Cranberry Glades State Park, Snowshoe Mtn Resort, and all of the outdoor activities and festivals you can possibly handle, as well as home to Meck's Bakery which makes some of the most delicious pepperoni rolls and breads and cookies in the state. Great place for horseback riding, hiking, spelunking, mtn biking, off-roading, fishing, skiiing, tubing, canoeing, lake swimming, camping, leaf peeping. Links:

Default We LOVE...

St. Simon's Island in Georgia. Stay at the King & Prince. Lots to do...kayaking and horsebackriding thru the Marsh. Very cool supper club/speak easy restaurant. Great southern restaurants along the main street for B/L/D. It is also very beautiful just to ride bicycles all over the island looking at the beautiful homes. Perfect weekend away, imo! It's exactly an hour north of Jacksonville, FL
