I just read about this place and am thinking of checking them out soon. The sell organic and biodynamic wines and have several tasting events (sometimes with live music) scheduled throughout the summer. You can check out their calendar of events here. They are located in the Preston Walk Shopping Center in Cary. I hope to grab some pictures and report back after my trip!
Thanks for the tip. We're always on the lookout for organic wines but cringe at the prices. It is hard to justify $25(+) for a bottle for a weekday dinner.
I know the owner. She is fantastic and definitely knows her wine.
We had a fantastic time at Sip tonight. The owner (April) was very kind and spent a lot of time explaining organic wines to us tonight. In addition to have five free wines to sample they live music and several cold beers available for purchase. This is a great wine shop and we will definitely be back. Very easy to get to from N. Raleigh too. I took some pics which I plan to post soon!
Here are a few quick pics of my trip to Sip last night. I will post a few more tomorrow when I have more time. It is a great little shop and I highly recommend you check them out. They also sell beer! They have a calendar on their website with details about their tasting events.

Could you talk about the price points of the wines/beers you tasted/purchased? What does the typical wine cost at "Sip"?

They have a wide range of price points. Of the wines they were tasting the night I visited were one was $8.50 two were $9.99, one was $11.99 and another was $17.99. They also opened at $23.00 bottle for us to try. As I walked around I saw number wines in the $9-$10 range and also some in the $20 to $30 range. Basically something for every price point and not just a handful to pick from either.
You can buy beers by the bottle (some they have cold on site). Most of the beers were between $1.80 and $3.00 a bottle. I had a Tibetan beer for $1.80 and bought a Mother Earth Endless River Beer (Brewed in Kinston, NC) for $1.80. We also bought a $9.99 bottle of wine. My friends bought and $8.50 bottle and $11.00 bottle, and one for $23 and $27. (They really like wine!)
I found the price range to be good. You can find pricey special occasion stuff and everyday $9 bottles. All organic / biodynamic.
Sip is going to have another tasting tonight Friday July 30 from 4-8pm. Taste 6 biodynamic wines from Benzinger winery. Tasting is free. These wines will also be available by the glass. Light Appetizers too
