I had to attend to the family last night...does anyone know the outcome of the "recreational devices" ordinance?

Yes! In a 3-2 vote, the council voted not to do anything. I think Sack and Williams would have been for Option 2 in some form. Womble, Cobb and VanFossen voted for the "do nothing" option. The town attorney spoke at length about the different options, and it seemed like he was worried (liability concerns) about the town implying it was okay to play in the street by saying just move your devices out of the street when you're not playing with them. But, he also seemed to think something should have been done to get the devices off the streets to prevent town trucks from hitting the devices, like the leaf truck. And, VanFossen made some good comments just before the vote urging folks to take care of/be responsible for their own equipment. Four residents spoke during public comment, too. All in all, it was very civil.

Thanks...great outcome, although a little too close for comfort. I'll remember that come election time....
