Default Mebane Crime

OMG - I just found out about the Mebane man who was found with the remains of a dead women in his backpack (on the Orange County side)and while looking this up I read about the man who shot his pregnant wife. They lived in the Governor's Green. (and by the way their house is currently on the market!) Also I remember hearing that in May a man was shot and killed in Mebane (again on the Orange County side) Are you all sure that Mebane is a safe place to live?? I am really having second thoughts. For a small town this is a lot in a short time...

Yep, we've had more than our fair share of that in this area. Including Cary, which probably has the lowest crime stats in the area. The bigger issue is, what's going on in relationships that ppl think the only way out is killing someone.

So no, I wouldn't worry about Mebane, there's not a whole lot there. It's a very quiet place.

ok so the guy that hid the remains in the backpack --that murder happened in Durham (not to badmouth Durham in any way)

i havent heard anything about governor's green--can you please find a link to the story?? i have freinds who live there and its a nice neighborhood from what i see--they are really happy.

the murder that took place in Mebane this year happened on the Alamance county a mile or so away from the orange county side---not that that matters much--but the situation was actually a gang fight that originated out of Hillsboro. it just so happned that it ended up in Mebane

I'm sorry, if there are I don't know of any. If you asked a local in Mebane if they need this they'd LOL. This is a domestic crime - as awful as it is. There has not been any need for gated communities in the Mebane area it is a small town of 9,000 or so, known to be safer than Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill etc due to its smallness. For one to want to live in a gated community b/c of domestic crime makes no sense.

For those who don't know Mebane Welcome to Mebane, North Carolina!

Where did you live before? Did you not have crime there?

Cary is supposedly the "best place" to live and a guy killed his wife while she was out for a jog...guess no one is interested in that little stat...

I really was hoping Mebane would be the perfect town to raise my family. But I guess their is no such thing as perfect. Did anyone notice the number of sex offenders that are registered in Mebane. It is of the chart. I wonder why?

No longer are the smaller towns almost totally crime-free.

Wait for Heaven if you need this.
