The two places I'd recommend you start are, NCHE and NCDNPE. NCHE is North Carolinians for Home Education and they have lots of info as they serve our whole state. NCDNPE is North Carolina Department of Non-Public Education. If you go onto their website you can download whatever forms you'd need to sign up your child. North Carolina is very friendly towards homeschoolers overall. Another helpful resource would be HSLDA. I hope this is helpful to you in your transition.

I believe that IEPs are only valid for 1 year and expire afterward. Your child would need to be retested and requalified under a label.

Someone, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi there!
you can homeschool as long as you have a high school diploma...
you just have to register yourself as a non-public school (just use your last name and the words academy, school, or homeschool behind it) with the NC department of non-public education...
