This is in Franklin county, for now, but be aware that he could show up anywhere. County lines are not "invisible fences".

This is a summary of a notice distributed in our neighborhood and not meant to alarm, just to inform.

Our HOA said to be on the lookout for "a slender, white, unshaven male, driving a green Infinity with Kentucky tags."

According to the notice, this person states that he is selling children's books. He appears to be peering into homes before knocking or ringing the doorbell. He goes by the name of Cash, is wearing a badge, but refuses to give a business card with name and number on it.

He seems to have a list of home schooled children, and is also asking questions like: do you have children, where do they go to school, when will you be home so he can come back to show you his books, etc.

Residents are urged to know where their children are, and to lock the doors so no one can walk in unannouced.

The County Sheriff's office is investigating and would like to talk to him to confirm his intentions. If he is legitimate, he should have no problems talking with any police officer.

If you see a vehicle or person that fits the description, or anything that looks suspicious, call the Franklin County Police Department (or if in your County, your own police department).

This man's description is similar to the person arrested yesterday in an affluent town called Darien. The man broke into the home of a 85 year old woman, he pulled up in her drive with a stolen BMW from Greenwich, CT. When the woman started questioning him, he ran out of her house and she called the police. The Police caught up with him after a chase and apprehended him. He winked for the cameras as he rode by in the back of the police car.
