With this heat I have to change my feeders at least twice a week cause it ferments. I haven't seen any hummers for about a week now and they were always around this summer.
Are you still feeding them? Do you see fewer by now. They are supposed to fly south around this time. And yes I know some do show up in the later fall months but I don't want to keep my feeders fresh and full only for an occasional stray.
Yes, I still have lots. Not as many as the frenzy that occurred about 2-3 weeks ago, but enough to enjoy. I keep my feeders up very late...I don't want to miss a single one!
I'm still feeding them. I have one there right now and have seen a couple throughout the day - maybe travelers from the north? Nowhere near the amount I had a few weeks ago but two did fight today.
Yes...I still have quite a few here. I removed two of my feeders on Sunday, but my two remaining feeders stay busy most of the day.....although I don't have near the numbers I did two weeks ago.
Yes and my friend in NJ took photos of some over the weekend (the bird was at rest guarding the feeder - amazing, as I had never seen one still before).
Last week I was on my deck and I felt "someone blow on my neck" which was pretty strange since I was home alone. But it was a hummingbird "buzzing" by me! It was awesome.
