Well it looks like my 98 civic needs a new hood, and it also looks like I have to pay for it myself.
I've had work done at Maaco before but wasn't thrilled with it, I'm wondering if anybody else has any recommendations?
We were happy with the work done on our Accord at Haddock Body Shop. I don't know if they were the cheapest (it was paid by insurance) but it cost what they said it would and it was done when they said it would be.
When I lived in north Raleigh I used John's collision a couple of times, and just referred a friend there who said he had good results. They are located near Westgate and Glenwood.
Precision Collision on US1 north up towards Wake Forest. Not the cheapest in town, but if you want it to look like the factory made it, they are awesome. Customer service is beyond amazing - one of their repairs ended up causing a wire to short out in my family car about 2 years after it was done - I submitted the bill from the dealer and they paid in full for the repair I had to do.
Just buy a used hood, my guess is there are billions around, and install yourself. It's like 4 bolts. That's all the body shop will do. Or you could even pay a mobile mechanic to install it if you are really unsure how to do it.
