The only place I've been to that does Dim Sum is Neo China in Cary near Preston. It's only on the weekends I believe. I saw and article about "The Dim Sum House" in Morrisville, NC in the news and observer. I think it opened in August. 100 Jerusalem Drive in Morrisville is the address. They serve Dim Sum 7 days a week, but I haven't been there.
I happen to think the dim sum at NeoChina is great. I have been to the places that people say are "more authentic" and they are just too greasy for me. I know that when we go, the majority of the families there are Chinese, so it must be pretty good. True, they carry some Americanized dishes, but they also have what I feel is authentic. You have to look in the carts and ask what they have sometimes, as they will not necessarily tell you all the dishes they have if you are not Chinese....not being mean, just on the assumption that you are not interested. My daughter likes jellyfish and has learned to ask each person, as they never mention it.
If they have any fish dishes, they are usually awesome and my favorite is the turnip cake.
Agreed with above post. We would go to Durham near the Costco for our fix of Dimsum, however tried Neo China once, and have been going there at least once a month. Couple of things I like about Neo China - they have variety - fish items particularly. Their wait time is more manageable - you can actually call and make reservations which did not happen at the other place, so you could go there and easily wait 45 mins if you were not there at the right time. Would definitely recommend trying Neo China for dimsum if you have not done that before.
Did not know An was doing dimsum, must put it on our list...
