I'm trying to find a bus pickup point in Durham for the 10/30 DC rally - the original pickup point isn't working out because there's a flea market and the owner wants money. NO to that owner.

I've been on the phone with the city, RTA, and the cops today and still can't really come up with a good location that will ensure no tickets/towing for cars parked from say 3:30 a.m. that Saturday until late late that night.

Does anyone know of something I may have overlooked? There must be *somewhere*

I don't know where the bus pickup is, but I know that the SouthBank parking lot across from Durham Arts Council is free at night and on weekends--we use that when I rehearse with various groups at the Arts Council. This is just a couple of blocks from the actual bus station.

Couldn't you always use a Walmart parking lot? I know they allow RVs to park and some Walmarts even have RV hookups in the parking lot.

Also, I've always been curious as to what purpose a rally serves? Wouldn't the best thing to do would be to just vote?

Rally is on 10/30, which is not election day.

We thought of Walmart but it's not 24 hours in Durham, could be sketchy as far as overnight parking, but it's still penciled in.

Where I come from (here) we don't use the expression "coming with" with no object of the preposition

I've got a college reunion that weekend, though I will be there in spirit. So, no, I won't be coming with you.

DC is a fun town, hit up the Brickskiller and have a beer while you are there! I live by one of the outer most Metro stations and the weekend were always a flood of protesters of some sort.

The WalMart in Brier Creek is. And I also believe the one on Glen School Rd is as well.

Thanks, the Brier Creek one might work. I believe they might combine the Cary and Durham buses anyway.
