I transfered for my work and my girlfriend is trying to get a job in the marketing field- she has a 4 year degree and 3 years of experience. Any suggestions?

I have always found the best place to work is where you get hired...
Mktg is probably gonna have more chances in places like Raleigh / Triangle and maybe RTP???

Realize that is a BROAD suggestion, but with employment, one has to go with the place that is hiring.

I think in this recession, marketing is one of the first places people are cutting when they start to tighten the belt. Where she should look would probably be places similar in industry to where she was before (unless she was at an actual advertising agency). I mean, if she was in the mktg department of a bank, then she should look at banks, etc.

Also, while she's job-hunting, I'd really recommend her volunteering at a nonprofit in the area and doing stuff for them, to keep her experience current. Having been involved with a lot of nonprofits, marketing is an area where many of there REALLY lack, and a great place for her to show her stuff, help the organization, keep her skills current, and get local references.
