We have a gas stovetop. I wish it was electric.
Well, actually people die from electric leaks all too often.
Short circuits, improper grounding, improperly exposed conductors, electrocution...
That electric range likely has the largest capacity branch circuit in the house, unless there is an electric furnace.
Knock you for a loop, it will.

But, in a rental, I would probably prefer to offer an electric range over gas anyway.
