Raleigh software company rPath plans to add 20 employees by the end of the year after raising $7 million in venture-capital funding. That would bring employment to 90. The company's products allow corporate IT departments to more easily access and manage their software.

Perfect. That'll make up for the 40-50 employees that Garmin will be laying off in Cary this week, if this article is an omen. . . .

EDIT: Read the article. Very sad news for the Sony Ericsson and Ericsson people who recently got jobs there.

Pure speculation. That site's sole purpose was to customize the software in Garmin phones to sell them in Europe. if Garmin stops making phones, then . . . . . .

Makes sense.

Hopefully, RIM will expand their local operation and pick up some people.
