Does anyone know where I can buy a cord of firewood in the Chapel Hill / Durham area?

And, while I'm on the topic, how much should I expect to pay for a cord of wood, delivery included?

Ironically I now have a fireplace for the first time in my life, after 34 years living up in New England, and can't wait to get it going .

thanks

I think you are looking at about $150/cord, but may be too late for this year.

It is very difficult to find seasoned firewood most of the time.
You need to plan ahead to let it season for months before you burn.

I don't remember where we got ours, but we got a cord of cedar and a cord of hickory for about $110 a cord delivered. Ours has been seasoning for a year now so this winter's fires will burn very nicely.

I have purchased my firewood from Jimmy Lowery (919-219-9093) for many years now. The earlier the better to get good seasoned wood.
