Because hospitals are BORING! New babies usually sleep the first 48 hours, so they're no fun yet. And on your third child your husband is home taking care of the other children so you don't have any company. Life gets hectic once you get home and the baby wakes up and the other kids (who are needy because of all the changes) want your attention.

Isn't that a man for ya!

Yes there is wi-fi, but from what I remember was slow and a little spotty. That was a little over a year ago. We tried to watch a Netflix movie and the connection was not quite fast enough.

The last time I was there was probably 2-3 years ago. FIL was having surgery, and I wanted to update family and friends. I could get email but Facebook was blocked. Don't know if that has changed or not.

I'd almost say the opposite lol. Bring the electronics so you aren't bored while the baby is sleeping/screaming for food/getting poked and prodded by the docs, you certainly won't have any time for yourself once you go home and you're all alone with that baby. If you have one like mine that refuses to nap and goes wherever he's not supposed to so you're constantly wrangling him, yeah, no time for those electronics anymore! hah.
