Has anyone recently had a baby at WakeMed in Cary? Did you notice if they had wifi in patient rooms?

Because Facebook and Twitter updates are more important than good healthcare.

Well, actually, I just wanted to be able to email photos of my baby to my family... but thanks for your super-helpful input. I've already had two babies there several years ago and I already know it's a terrific hospital.

Women's Pavilion & Birthplace - Cary

"There is also a sleep chair in the mother's room for dad or support persons. Each room includes a mini-refrigerator, VCR/television and a separate telephone line for Internet connection for personal laptops. "

Don't forget a network cable.
Hope this is helpful.

They had wi-fi (no cable required) in patient rooms January of 2007. Granted, that was almost 4 years ago but I'd think if they had it then they would still have it. But, it looks like they may not. Maybe they had some kind of problems with it? I don't know.

My wife was in for a few days in April, and I had to tote a network cable.
I just do not remember if wifi was available, as cabled worked just fine.

Cabled will be more reliable than wifi, and those will be precious photos.

Why not share pics of a new baby as soon as you can? It takes, what, 2 minutes to do so? Easy for dad to do while mom and baby are sleeping, baby is eating, being checked by the doctor, etc. AND it will keep friends and relatives off her back asking incessantly about seeing pics of the baby so they can get some rest!
