Who: Open to the general public and small businesses

What: A way to Prevent Identity Theft and Promote Security, Confidentiality, and a Greener Raleigh.

Where: in front of the RBC Plaza Building on the 30 block of Fayetteville Street

When: 9am to 4pm, Friday, November 19th

Why: Approximately 1 in every 20 Americans risks becoming a victim of identity theft in the next year as incidences of this type of crime have increased by as much as 11% within the last year.

We will have a large shred truck on Fayetteville Street so that you can actually witness your items being shredded.

This is a great opportunity to destroy old tax records, credit applications, old bills, account statements, and other papers that include personally identifiable information.

Volunteers in green Shred-a-thon shirts will be available to assist you. We are limited to four boxes of paper per person per turn at the shredder. If you wish to bring more boxes, please be prepared to wait your turn per four boxes to keep the line moving. We can accept PAPER ONLY!
