I'm moving in a couple of months and there is a place we are looking at in the 27606 area. I know zip codes are large and one area can be great, the next horrible. The town home is on Caprice Ct which is off of Bashford road and Buck Jones road. The place on Caprice is on a private road (if you call many town homes private) but I've heard crime is bad on the Buck Jones area, does anyone know if this also includes this little section. Thanks in advance.

I think it really depends on what you're used to and what you prefer. Yeah, Buck Jones can be sketchy in my opinion, but I'm sure others will say it doesn't bother them, or that they live there and love it. To me, the area is kinda run down and in some areas, overly college-y. Any way you can come check it out in advance?

I drove there yesterday the area I'm looking to rent looks ok. The town homes are not new but the area looks clean (no trash, lawns mowed, no graffiti). Mostly middle class from what I could tell and actually a little cozy but it was the middle of the day and there were a few people around. The main streets leading too that area however looked sketchy and run down. I'm considering the move because the schools there are far better than where my kids currently go. I think I want what everyone wants, a safe neighborhood where I don't have to fear for our safety just going on a bike ride.
