Fossil Fair: North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Take a giant step back … in time! The nation’s largest event dedicated to fossils and paleontology returns to the Museum for the first time in three years.
Discover what it's like to be a paleontologist as you meet the experts, and their fossils, face to face. Meet Museum paleontologist Paul Brinkman, author of "
The Second Jurassic Dinosaur Rush." Bring in your own discoveries for identification, and enjoy dozens of displays, activities and presentations about fossils from North Carolina and around the world.
Kids can:- Make a Dino Glider
- Put together a Dinosaur Puzzle
- Help to color a 50' Titanoboa and learn about the biggest snake that ever lived!
Kids of all ages can also dig for fossils at the
Fossil Dig, where you are guaranteed to find prehistoric shark teeth, as well as many other interesting marine fossils.
Fossil Fair is presented in collaboration with the North Carolina Fossil Club
