My husband and I Are looking to purchase land somewhere within 20-30 miles of Charlotte or Raleigh - preferably closer to the 20 side..........we are looking for 2+ acres, maybe a nice woodsy area or a lake would be nice, too. Our intention is to buy now and build within 5 years. What suburban areas are good? We'd like it to be a predominately middle to middle upper class neighborhoods, good schools, close to shopping, etc. Price wise we are looking at around 50K.......Would love some suggestions.......

Thanks,
Rhonda:>)

Not sure if 50K is going to get you much but Cary, Apex, and Wake Forest are all places to look in to around Raleigh. All are middle-upper class suburbs around the area. Clayton is a little further out but is worth looking in to as well. Cary has great shopping and schools are very good. Holly Springs and Apex aren't too far from Cary and I believe they're both getting quite a few new stores. Good luck!

I've seen some advertisements for 1 acre of land for around 80k. You'd probably have to go to a very small town that is not really developed for 50k
