Does a Preschool Exist in Cary Without a Waiting List?
Does a preschool in Cary (that is not a daycare!) exist without a waiting list for a four year old class??? Just relocated here from Philadelphia and having a tough time finding a preschool for my four year old. We live in West Cary near the Chatham County Border. Would go to Apex also. Any Help or info would be great!!! - Thanks

We were put on the waiting list last summer about this time for Cary Presbyterian Preschool in central Cary and we got a spot within a couple of weeks.

The post did make me laugh, because I remember thinking the same thing! I would agree though, get your name on a couple of different waiting lists and you will probably end up getting into one. I was shocked when I was moving from apex to wake forest and the whole preschool registration thing came up (in february and we were going to move in may) and I called around and was told by more than one preschool that people started lining up for "general registration" at 4 in the morning! seriously????
I think why it is tough to get in (at least in church preschools) is that they register:
current students
siblings
church members
then general registration
anyhow, I would just drive around and see what you see regarding places near you and start making calls.
Also, long on to carolina parent. com and you can get some great information about preschools in the area (carolina parent is a local magazine that is free and comes out once a month is an excellent resource).
Hope this helps

Hi there! I just enrolled my 4 year old last week in Kids R Kids on 7580 Carpenter Fire Station Road. The place is amazing. They even have video cameras you can log into throughout the day to watch your little one.

Good luck!!!

Preschool in Cary
We were very impressed with Chesterbrook Academy, the cleanest and friendliest place that we found. We interviewed quite a few places and were very pleased with Chesterbrook.

I don't think there is a waiting list for Knowledge Beginning. Their staff is really nice. We enjoyed our stay there last year.

Is the preschool completely separate from the daycare? Like the OP, I am not looking at daycare, I want a proper nursery(and not religious!)
I see so many daycares in the Cary, Apex areas, and not many nursery/preschool places.

I think that the wording has people confused, at least that is what I have found. Some people refer to preschool when it is an all day care situation, to me, preschool is part time half day, and daycare is full time all day care while a parent is working, etc.
Many of the preschools are religiously based, or run by a church. I believe there are some that are both day care and preschool, in other words you can go full time or part time, and those tend to not be religiously based.
it gets very confusing!
