Hello, I am moving this August to begin my teaching career in NC and am looking for others in the same boat to share some questions and concerns with. I am originally from long island but am moving from Rochester where I did my Undergraduate and Master's work. Thanks!
We are HOPING to be doing the same. I am still waiting for a job-offer from Johnston County. Was there last week for the job fair and got some leads...but no offers yet. We won't make our move until I have an offer/job.
I will be teacing second grade but in Wake not Johnston. I'm sure you will find something.. it is now crunch time for schools to be looking. Are you coming from NY?
I am beginning to feel a bit nervous about any impending job-offers. Its been almost 2 weeks since my interviews/job fair, and no offers yet. My interviews went really well(I thought) and I've been correspoding with the Human Resources rep. since last week....but still no offers yet.
From what I hear there is a great deal of teachers moving into the area. I have also heard that some are having difficulties finding the teaching job they want. Keyword is WANT.
Teacher, too, HS English, 2 years experience in Bay Area, CA. Been in Raleigh for two weeks. Been to Fall (back in Dec.) and Spring job fairs. Been in the application system system since December, been emailing resumes since March. 1 interview, no offers at all. Be prepared for the funky semester system here, it took me by great surprise.
