it is called - "make your own forecast" !

usually, if it is predicted - it won't happen. If it isn't predicted, it'll happen. esp with snow. rarely do they achieve accuracy rates similar to the northeast.

so, for your own predictions, I have noticed the following:

Generally, our weather sweeps up from the south east (so look at yesterday's Atlanta weather for todays RTP forecast).

Sometimes, we get the marvelous florida weather due south which pushes the "atlanta' weather north of us.

Very very rarely do we get north/east weather. so we tend not to experience the nor'easter in the RTP area.

When the jet stream dips then we get the arctic chill weather (shudder). Luckily, that really does not happen that often.

an 8 hr Map in motion radar map for the southeast will give you a good idea of when/where the weather is coming from.

My husband I have found accuweather dot com to be the most consistently accurate. We consult it every day.

What dont y'all put your trust in Chris??? Really though i just look out the window...Most weather guessers are regurgitating info from the NWS. But the local channels hype up the weather person like they're some all knowing and all seeing weather guru...LOL. Its like that in every major town that i've been to.

It's my understanding that most "other" sources all derive from weather.gov (NWS) anyway, so I always use that for the info I need.

We count on Chris. I also check the NWS when a storm is headed our way.
