I was not a fan of her's or her husband's, but I would not wish on anyone what she had to endure in her life - the loss of a child, the infidelity and the cancer. May she rest in peace. My prayers are with her children.

Wow that was quicker than I expected. I wonder when the doctors actually told her further treatment was pointless. Was it just in the last few days or a few weeks ago and the family decided to wait to tell the public? I do know from experience that death from Cancer can linger for a long time and it can also be over in a flash. My father was sick for quite a while before he died. My mom died within a week of the diagnosis. I personally was very grateful that my mom had a quick ending despite how painful it was.

RIP Elizabeth

I hope the media shows this family respect and gives them the privacy they need.

"The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered ... And, yes, there are certainly times when we aren't able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like ... But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful."

RIP Elizabeth Edwards

The Edwards alway sought media attention, and did so again yesterday on behalf of Elizabeth rather than spending her last day in private. They/she had their reasons for it, and I don't fault them - but I certainly don't blame the media.
