I have seen free paper shredding events posted here in the past. Does anyone know of any coming up soon in Raleigh?

Unfortunately you posted about 2-3 weeks after a number of free community shredding/recycling events in Raleigh and Cary. There may be some coming up in the spring but the city of Raleigh officially only does it in mid-November. This website offers a link to sign up for email alerts though: The Official City of Raleigh Portal - Shredding Events

I would keep an eye out, especially starting in late March or early April, for upcoming events.

I regularly attend the "Take It To Your Job" event. Seriously, is there a shredding bin at your job, a nearby school, or at a friend's workplace?

We bought a paper shredder for ~$30, and try to keep up with it as we go along. If get gets to be too much or we get behind, we also attend the "take it to your job" event.

Also, fireplaces work well. If you don't have one, maybe a friend or family member that you trust does?

Durham is now doing these once per quarter. Unfortunately you (and I!) missed the last event this past weekend (Sat. 1/22) -- but if you're on the Durham side keep an eye out....

Just saw in the paper that there is one on April 16th at Oak Park Shopping Center in Raleigh. Its Earth Day, so there may be others as well.

I live outside the city limits, so I just throw it in a steel drum and stand around it like a hobo.
