I've seen tour buses from other places that are visiting the Triangle.

Does anyone know if there are any bus trips for Triangle residents that go elsewhere? Maybe to Williamsburg, Asheville, Charleston -- anywhere?

I don't know of any, but that is a great idea! Did you check Greyhound or Carolina Trailways? Maybe Craigslist, AAA, or meetup groups? When we lived up north, they used to have them to NYC, Atlantic City and so forth.

I tried to Google it and only came up with this so far: http://slopeandsail.com/daytrips.htm

You have me stumped. LOL I usually can find something. I'd call a travel agency, maybe they know?

There used to be that's for sure. My wife has done bus trips to Asheville(Christmas at Biltmore), Washington DC, New Bern, Atlantic City and New York, Amish Country and several to Williamsburg.

You might start with Per-Flo Tours

Default try charter bus

Try charter bus companies...they are motivated to keep their fleet in motion as much as possible.

Brentwood - there is a group on Meetup called the Starship Travel and Social Club. The organizer owns a charter bus and organizes trips to many places/destinations. They go to a wide variety of places such as Asheville, beach trips, Myrtle Beach etc, They are always looking for suggestions. I think the organizer's name is Curt and the cost of each trip varies.

Megabus service has started out of Durham to Charlotte, DC, and Richmond. You can also take the Amtrak for a very quick and easy trip to Charlotte.

The downside of Amtrak to Charlotte is the distance between the Amtrak Station and their Lynx light rail service. The next phase of Lynx expansion is supposed to hook up to Amtrak, although I imagine it is quite a few years off.

Thank you! Here I am, always pushing Meetup.com, and I didn't even think to look there. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I couldn't find anything else online, just places that rent out buses.

Just another one worth mentioning...we took Holiday Tours from Greensboro for a day trip to the casino in Cherokee. They gave us a $20 voucher to use at the casino, the bus was very comfortable, the staff was super friendly and we had a great time. I know they offer alot of tours all over the world, so its something else to consider.
